Work From Home Dad – How To Choose A Home Business

Thursday, February 17th, 2011

As a work from home dad seeking to find the best way to support a family from the comfort of your home, there is certainly much to consider.  Here are some tips to help you in your search for stability and cash flow for your loved ones.

Work Backwards

Jobs for stay at home dads may not result in the type of income necessary to provide the quality of life you may be seeking for your family.  Although there may be some options, you might want to consider working the numbers backwards.

You might start with how much income would you like to earn working from home. If you have grown accustomed to a certain lifestyle, what type of monthly cash flow is needed to maintain that lifestyle?  Once you have that figure firmly in mind, then determine whether a work at home job will provide that cash flow or, should you consider starting a home based business?  Many home businesses can provide a higher income potential for a stay at home father.

Challenges

Starting a home business for work from home dads can be quite the challenge, especially without any prior business experience.   The task of putting all the necessary components in place could be overwhelming.  If income is needed immediately, that income might not be available for several months while you are setting up the business infrastructure.  Is there a way to speed this process up?  Yes there is.

The Upside

Stay at home fathers considering a home-based business have much to look forward to if the business is chosen wisely.

Time freedom and quality time with family can both be accomplished working for yourself from home.  However, when looking into the different types of businesses, what are the top things to be concerned with?

Home Business Selection Criteria

Do you want employees?  Do you want to stock inventory?  How many hours a week would you prefer to work?  When running at its best, what is the income potential for the business you are evaluating?

Internet Home Business Model

If the ultimate desire is maximum income potential combined with maximum flexibility, then an Internet business run from home may be just the solution.

Consider this.  An Internet business can be started with minimal start up capital compared with a traditional business.  A few thousand dollars would be more than enough to set things in motion.

With an Internet business, you can be profitable relatively fast.  In fact, it may take just a few weeks to accomplish this.  You can operate this type of business with no employees, no inventory, no rent, no insurance, more freedom, and possibly pay less taxes.

The Best Features of an Internet Business

Once your business is running, you may only have to manage it a few hours per day.  Contrast that with a traditional business that may require 40 to 80 hours a week to maintain.  Many successful Internet home business entrepreneurs can typically afford to pay themselves a much higher salary because their overhead is so low.

Time Saving Tip

Rather than attempting to build an Internet business from scratch, find a model that is already proven to work.  Seek out successful people within that model who are living the lifestyle you desire and earning the income you want.  Copy what they are doing and you will speed up your learning curve and put yourself in position to achieve the same type of financial accomplishment.

www.howdini.com Do you eat organic food, but never think twice about the chemicals in the personal care products you use on your skin? It’s not easy to find organic skin care and beauty products, but environmentalist and author Anna Lappe has expert tips. How To Choose Organic Skin And Beauty Products You may be unpleasantly surprised to learn that unlike food there is no government certified labeling program for organic ingredients in skin care and beauty products. So how can you tell whether you’re choosing organic cosmetics and skin care products or not? * Read the labels, not just the name of the product. Some products will include the word organic in their name, but on closer inspection of the ingredients you wont find any organic ingredients at all. * Check the label to see whether the ingredients include petroleum, synthetic preservatives or artificial colors. Also watch out for parabens and phthaltes. * You can also consult the Environmental Working Groups Skin Deep website, www.cosmeticsdatabase.com. You can enter the name of the products you use and see whether they contain ingredients you want to avoid. Keywords: organic skin care organic cosmetics organic makeup organic skin care products
